Eyelash serums
1. Apply serum
Some of you who follow me know that I did a lot of research on eyelash growth serums, and I learned about the science behind them. I picked this one from VieBeauti and applied it once a day, in the morning. After a while, I noticed that my eyelashes got longer!
So, if you are looking for length, I definitely recommend getting a good eyelash serum and applying it as part of your daily routine.
How to tightline your eyes for fuller lashes
2. Tightline your eyes
One of the best-kept secrets to thick and full eyelashes is to tightline the base of your eyelashes before you apply mascara. It looks complicated, but I can assure you, it’s easy! All you need is a good eyeliner that holds well throughout the day.
So, when you apply it, apply it right at the base of your eyelashes. Like this, you’ll be filling in the gaps between your eyelashes and making them look fuller. Hands down, this is one of the best eye makeup tricks!

3. Curl your lashes
It’s time to get out your lash curlers! I use an inexpensive eyelash curler - it probably cost me $10.The best eyelash curler for older eyes really doesn't have to be expensive or sophisticated; it just needs to get the job done!
When curling your lashes, place the eyelash curler not so much at the base but more in the middle. Next, pulse, and try holding it for almost a minute.

4. Fan out your lashes
I like my lashes to fan out a little, so it opens my eyes and makes them bigger.
After curling your lashes, you’ll notice they all point up. To fan them out, grab a few lashes between your thumb and forefinger. Then, put some lashes in between your nails and pull them out gently. With a bit of pressure, it's going to fan them out in the sides.

5. Apply a mascara base
I highly suggest not to miss this step because by applying a mascara base to your lashes, your mascara will glide on, and your lashes will look great! It’s literally like a primer for your eyelashes.
My mascara primer is a little white, but that’s ok since the black will cover it up. So, go ahead and apply it to your lashes.
Tip: Move the wand back and forth while applying the primer; it will help separate your lashes and avoid clumps.

When you get to the outside edge, fan your lashes out with the wand so that those lashes stay in place.

6. Apply mascara
Let the primer dry for around a minute before applying your mascara. Once it’s dry, place the mascara wand from the bottom of your lashes and work your way upwards. It’s best to open and close your eyes so that the product gets as close to the lash line as possible.
Tip: In case you’re wondering should an older woman wear mascara on her bottom lashes? The answer is yes! Feel free to add a little as you see fit.

7. Comb your lashes
So, this is an extra tip, but it works really well. I actually purchased a flea comb from the pets section at Walmart. Ok, so it might freak you out, but it works so well! It’s so effective at getting out any clumps and separating your lashes.
